It seems that the best resources for learning about cooperative funding of a
house are the Intentional Community Org (http://www.ic.org/) the
Federation of Egalitarian Communities (http://thefec.org/). And then
contacting each community and asking the same question will eventually
bear fruit. I was very lucky to get a very complete response from one
community in Columbus, OH after only writing to about 5 total
communities. She recommended this book –

their house had been purchased through an LLC that all shareholders
were a part of.
